Addison's choice and other such things.

The first episode of Private Practices sixth season was good (not as good the show it spun off from, Greys Anatomy but…what can you do?). Let me say, I am a firm believer that this is PP’s last season (I refuse to call it PPP like other sites and blogs do because I don’t get where the third P comes from and until I do I am not doing it). Kate Walsh has said she is not returning and thought I love the other characters (especially Cooper and Charlotte) But I do not for a second believe the other characters can carry this show without Kate…just my opinion.

On to the current episode.

I liked the pacing of the episode. I liked how it shows what each person has gone through during the time away. The actors really brought it and I loved it ... Even Amy Brenneman and I am not a Violet Turner fan. I am disappointed by the loss Tim Daly but I can’t say I am not ready to stop dealing with Pete and Violet…just saying.

Overall-
Things I loved:
The fact that they waited so long to reveal Addison’s choice (usually when a main character is faced with a romantic choice they reveal it in the first few minutes of the show) It was nice to stretch it out and leave people wondering.
I love that Addison chose Jake; I was over Addison and Sam…period.
Cooper and Charlotte…three babies…hahahaha…That is just awesome!

Things I didn’t love:
I am indifferent to Sam’s new thing. I want him to be happy and I am over him and Addison but I just didn’t care much.
Pete’s death, I was hoping they would leave it open for him to return.

My rating? 3 out of 5, it was a little better than average. Let’s hope season 6 will go out with a bang.

In memory...

If you have not watched the first episode of season 9 of Grey’s Anatomy STOP HERE….warning you now.

Ok, so, I am a Grey’s fan from way back. As much as I have loved this show over the years I will be the first one to say that in my humble opinions Grey’s has lost it’s spark. I started feeling differently about Grey’s after season 3 (and no, that is not just because Addison left, although I am a HUGE Addison Montgomery fan.) It just didn’t feel the same. Now, I am a firm believer that every show that goes for more than 1 or 2 seasons has a point where it changes (for example Beverly Hills 90210, the original series, went through a change after a high school and then after college. Charmed changed after season 4. They felt like different shows almost). I allow for that change but Grey’s just felt weak. Season 6 was little better but 7 an 8 were slightly disappointing. Saying all that, I loved this premiere. It was emotional and yet still fun at times. I may actually be excited about Grey’s Anatomy again.

The actors brought their A game, especially Sara Ramirez (Dr. Callie Torres) and Patrick Dempsey (Dr. Derek Shepherd aka McDreamy). The cast has always been good in opinion but this episode reminded me why I love them. The sad parts were really sad but the good news I was expecting most of them. Some stuff was news to me (Like Arizona…yikes). The preview for next week already has me nervous, I am sure it’s going to be just as good as this episode but it looks even more emotional than the first episode. I guess I should watch it with a box of tissues.

Overall-

Things I loved:
Cristina being Cristina. (The parts we saw of her at Mayo reminded me if the tough chick I fell in love with all of those years ago.
The Meredith/Cristina love …My favorite friendship on television.
The Meredith and Derek love…I enjoy seeing them happy after all the nonsense they deserve it, right?
Bailey and Ben (super cute and super happy…Because Bailey is made of awesome and deserves awesome things)
The Mark Sloan tribute, it was well done and super sweet.
The Callie/Arizona stuff (I was almost sure that  Shonda Rhimes had killed Arizona and I knew that would be a disaster). I am glad Arizona is alive and I am excited to see what they do with this. I am expecting some world class acting from Sara and Jessica.
Owen getting April Kepner (I won’t deny it was weird. But I liked it)
Jackson and Mark
Medusa…Right?
Booty call Bailey…what!?!?!
Derek, Callie and Mark
Alex  being a PIMP
Alex caring enough to stay at SGMW hospital.

Things I didn’t love:
The new interns…they bugged me…(but to be fair the Mercy West doctors bugged me once too and now Jackson and April are loved by me, so we shall see)
Cristina’s boss at Mayo…eeewww
That is about it..There were not a lot I disliked in this episode.

My rating? 4.5 stars out of 5…it was good but it takes a little more fantastic to get 5 out of 5…sorry.
Please be looking for a blog post to be made today about the negative attitude people seem  to have about Shonda Rhimes

Countdown to Goodbye...

If you have not seen the first episode of season 5 of Fringe then please leave now…thanks…
Just watched Fringe’s first episode of their final season. It was spectacular, but I expect nothing less. I have been on pins and needles waiting for this episode. I was so glad we were getting a season 5, that the fans were given a few episodes to wrap up storylines we have dedicated our time to and that we would be allowed to say goodbye.
During the summer I heard that most (if not all) of season five would take place in 2036 (like the episode 4x19 letters of transit), I was glad to hear that because after that episode I became concerned that the future with the Observers Hostile takeover would never be explained or resolved.

I know that Walter will remember the plan September put in his head (at some point, I mean he has too, right The Observers can't win). I am on pins and needles waiting for the next episode.

Overall-

Things I loved:
Peter and Olivia’s reaction to their daughter and finding one another
How much the actress who plays Etta looks like Olivia.
Walter…enough said.

Things I didn’t love
Not enough Astrid and Walter love
The creepy guy Markham using Olivia as a coffee table

How would I rate this episode? 4 out f five stars. Why not five? I am not sure, I guess because I have seen better Fringe episodes. Though let me reiterate, I was not disappointed in this episode. I think we have an action packed season ahead of us…buckle up guys…

It's been a while.

This is just a quick post to apologize for my lengthy absence. But I am back now and I will be sharing my many opinions on this TV season. Welcome back guys.
